Information we collect

1) Server logs

When you visit WanderGuide, our servers automatically record standard request information: IP address, user agent, referrer, requested URLs, and timestamps. We use this only for security, debugging, and measuring service reliability.

2) Analytics (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage. We’ve enabled Google Consent Mode v2:

Cookies

WanderGuide does not set non-essential first-party cookies. Analytics cookies are only set after you consent in our banner. If you decline, Google Analytics runs in cookieless mode. Embedded videos may set their own cookies when played. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Third-party services we use

Video embeds

We embed publicly available travel videos. When you play an embedded video, the hosting platform (e.g. YouTube) may collect viewing activity, device information, and set cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics as described above to measure aggregate site usage.

How we use your information

Data retention

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share information only with service providers acting as our processors (e.g., hosting, analytics), and only as necessary to provide the service, under appropriate data protection terms.

Visitors in the EU/EEA/UK

For analytics, our lawful basis is consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). Server and security logs are processed under legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) to operate and protect the service. You can withdraw consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link.

California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the CCPA (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and request its deletion. We do not sell or share personal information as defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use your data for cross-context behavioral advertising.

To exercise these rights, email support@wanderguide.co with the subject line “California Privacy Request.”

International data transfers

We may process data on servers outside your country. Our analytics provider, Google LLC (USA), relies on legal mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for transfers.
